Caramel Brownies

1poundcaramels
1packagegerman chocolate cake mix
2/3Cupevaporated milk
3/4Cupbutter, softened
1Cupchopped pecans
112-ounce packagechocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Melt caramels in 1/3 cup of milk. Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup milk, softened butter, nuts, and 6 ounces of chocolate chips. Press 1/2 of this mixture into a buttered 13x9 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Take out of the oven and sprinkle the remaining 6 ounces of chocolate chips over crust. Pour caramel mixture over all. Crumble remaining mixture over all. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool and cut into small bars.
